Experimentei a massa da Das
Pronto cor de barro para o terreno. Ao secar ficou excessivamente vermelho. Foi
útil para diferenciar cores entre os rochedos e a terra, mas acabou por me dar
trabalho extra na procura de tons de terra mais convincente.
Tried Das Pronto clay colour. It
turned out too red. It was useful to visualize the diference between rocks and
soil, but gave me extra work finding convincing tones of earth.
No topo do penhasco, entretanto baptizado de Dente do
Dragão, acumulou-se um pouco de terra
que alimenta o pinheiro e uma erva escassa.
On top of the rock, now called the Dragon's Tooth, some dirt
acumulated, feeding the twisted tree and some scarce weeds
Os arrozais seguindo a topografia, descendo em direcção ao
vale. Ainda se arranjou espaço para dois terraços em frente à casa solitária no
sopé da montanha. A plataforma do apeadeiro provisoriamente no lugar. Ficou um
pouco sobredimensionada porque inicialmente tinha pensado num edificio maior a
construir de raiz e depois optei por um kit de papel cortado a laser da Sankei.
The rice paddies following the topography
going down until the river gorge. In front of the lonely farm on the
plateau there was still place for two
paddies. The halt platform provisory in place. it is a littel oversized as
initially I thought scratchbuilding a small station but then opted by yhe
lovely kit of sankei of a shelter. The kit is laser cut paper of different
colours, requiring only some light weathering.

Uma
foto confusa com materiais tão diversos. Começo a sentir-me à vontade com a
composição da cena. A área da maqueta não é muito grande (104 X 45cm), procurei
criar perspectivas e enquadramentos que
fragmentassem a área em várias cenas. O que não me agrada esta foto é a
desarmonia entre a altura do dente de Dragão (o penhasco central) e a as
montanhas circundantes que se apequenam.
A
very confusing photo for the diversity of materials. I start to feel more
confaortabel with the composition of the scene. Teh layout area is not that big
(104 X 45cm), I tried to create lines of sight and view blocks to fragment the layout area in several scenes. What displeases me is the disarmony between
the central rock (the Dragon's tooth) and the surrounding mountains that look
too low.
Experimentei
criar marcas de rodado na estrada de terra batida enquanto o Das Pronto estava
ainda fresco, mas exagerei na pressão e ficaram fora de escala.
I
indented tire marks on the dirt road whilst the putty was still fresh, but
overdone, they're out of scale.
Ponte
nº2. Procurei criar uma composição em
que várias linhas e planos se entrecruzam. A linha férra, sinuosa, segue sempre
no plano horizontal, cruzando-se com o plano do declive dos arrozais em
diracção ao rio e aos planos verticais dos penhascos. O traçado sinuoso da
linha férrea sobrepoem-se ao traçado sinuoso da estrada de terra batida que
sobe primeiro até à quinta e desce de seguida para cruzar o rio com uma ponte a
cota mais baixa que a ponte ferroviária,
e numa curva apertada passa por debaixo da ponte nº 2. A linha férra que surge de um túnel e passa
para uma trincheira, em breve aparece "leve" acima da paisagem.
Bridge
nbr 2. The composition is done with several lines and planes criscrossing. The
railway is on an horizontal plane, coming onstage by a tunel, a trench and
suddenly "floats" over the landscape, whilst the rice paddies form a
plane downwards ot the river gorge and on the right, the vertical cliffs
"oblige" the rail to turn around Dragon's Tooth.
